Erica graduated magna cum laude from University of North Florida and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and a Bachelor of Communications in Advertising. She began her career at CFM as a humble intern and now oversees the Design department.

Erica believes that beautiful design can change the world. She is constantly trying to push clients to think outside the box on even the smallest design projects. “Creativity not only encompasses the “Big Idea”. It transcends into the smallest details, like type and color.”

Although she has a range of capabilities, if forced to narrow it down, her specialties would be typography and working with concepts. She feels that any message can be disseminated with a good concept. “Good design isn’t just about making things look pretty. It’s about effectively communicating an idea in a way that people can receive it. With the flood of media messages, it’s becoming more difficult to stand out. That’s why even if you’re selling something as small as a filter or screw, you need a strong concept.”

She also has a weird love for type. “I love the curve of a classic serif or the jagged edges of a fresh new headline font. Typography in design is like salt and pepper in cooking– essential to the finished piece. You can have a great looking dish, but without salt and pepper, it can be very bland.”

When Erica’s not at work, you will most likely find her at home cooking, out of town traveling or running for charity.

1. I have three cats. 2 are the size of small dogs and 1 lives in my bedroom.

2. I’ve been to 9 countries outside of the US. My favorite city was Prague, and they have the best pizza in the world there.

3. I’m an avid Gator fan (Go Gators!) and have season tickets to the Jags (We Are...Jaguars!)

4. I recycle, compost and think littering is for lazy people.

5. If I won the lottery, I would spend the rest of my days traveling and going back to school. I would love to be able to take any random class that interests me and not have to worry about a degree.
